Al is currently very active in several space-oriented organizations including: the Planetary Science Institute, Tucson Amateur Astronomy Association, Moon Society and Planetary Society. During his lengthy career with the U.S. Department of State, Al applied his knowledge and expertise in the support of science and the environment. Since the 1980's, Al has participated in many science related programs, before live audiences, on the radio and TV, in the United States, Ecuador, the Domincan Republic and Barbados.
